WELCOME TO BULLFROG PRODUCTIONS
Bullfrog Productions is a leading youth production company, based in East Grinstead, providing training across all aspects of musical theatre. We offer dance classes in a range of genres, including Ballet, Tap, Modern and Street, and offer students the opportunity to gain graded qualifications through the ISTD syllabus. We also offer lessons in drama, singing, and musical theatre; and our youth production company performs at least 2 shows each year in a professional theatre. Bullfrog is proud to hold a strong reputation for producing professional and high quality shows, even with a young cast. Our most recent productions have included Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Fame, and High School Musical.
We are an inclusive, welcoming company, who believe that every child deserves the opportunity to perform. Our classes are delivered by a team of energetic and passionate professionals, who strive to ensure each child receives individual attention and care, to ensure they achieve their full potential. Many of our students go on to enter the professional industry, with recent graduate destinations including the Brit School, GSA (Guildford School of Acting), and Mountview.
We offer students the opportunity to take examinations in Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, and Tap Dance. Examinations with the ISTD begin with a Primary Class Examination, before moving onto Grades 1-6, and beyond the graded syllabi students move onto vocational examinations, made up of Intermediate Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2.
Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing
The ISTD was established in 1904, and has since built up a worldwide reputation for excellence in dance training and education. Their mission is to promote knowledge, improve and maintain teaching standards throughout the world, and provide up-to-date techniques in the ever-changing world of dance.
The ISTD’s clearly defined examination structure allows learning to take place in the context of safe dance practice, and is designed to cater equally for those who wish to progress to making dance their profession, either as a performer or dance teacher, and for those pursuing dance purely as a leisure activity. Graded examinations aim to build up progressively, ensuring that steps and skills learned at lower levels prepare for more complex movements as the candidate progresses. Vocational examinations form a cohesive bridge between grade work and professional examinations to provide the basis for either a career as a dancer, or further training as a dance teacher. All examinations are accredited by Ofqual, and examinations taken at Grade 6 and Intermediate level, in any genre, will also receive UCAS points; which can be used towards a student’s entry requirements into university, even if they do not wish to study dance.
Examinations are not compulsory, and Bullfrog Productions reserves the right to decide when to enter a student into an examination. All children develop at different times, and we will ensure your child is placed at an appropriate level for their age and ability. Bullfrog Productions are proud to hold a successful 100% pass rate.
“It was slick, professional and great fun to watch. Loved the set, the music and especially the enthusiasm and

MEET THE TEAM
We are so lucky to have a fantastic team of talented, committed and inspiring teaching professionals.
All our teachers hold enhanced DBS certificates and are first aid trained.
Hannah Smith ISTD DDE
Hannah graduated from the Anna Morgan Teacher Training College in 2017, achieving her Diploma in Dance Education in Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, and Tap Dance. She has also attended intensive courses at Bird College and The Urdang Academy in London. Hannah joined the team at Bullfrog Productions in 2017, initially working with the vocational dance students, but soon getting involved in all aspects of Bullfrog. She has experience in directing and choreographing numerous amateur dramatic productions, and is on the teaching faculty at Anna Morgan Teacher Training College, training new prospective teachers studying towards their own Diplomas in Dance Education. Hannah is thrilled to be Principal of Bullfrog Productions and training the next generation of talented performers.
Natalie trained in Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre from the age of 3, gaining top grades in all three disciplines. She has worked onstage extensively, appearing as the female lead in shows such as ‘Rent’, ‘Footloose’, and ‘West Side Story’. Professional theatre credits include the UK tour of ‘Seussical the Musical’, ‘Honk!’, ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’. She has sung professionally at the London Palladium, The London Hippodrome, and for ITV. More recently, Natalie has choreographed music videos for Bucks Fizz, and acted as resident choreographer for the TV series ‘That was then, this is now’. Bridging the gap between the dance studio and the professional world of performing,
she hopes to inspire all her students to be the best performers they can be.
Kate Virgoe BA (Hons) Creative Musicianship
Kate is a professionally trained singer who has been involved in the creative arts from a very early age.
She joined Bullfrog at the age of 9 and since graduating has furthered her career and passion for the arts by becoming a singer and songwriter in her own right and gaining a Diploma in songwriting (Distinction) and a BA (Hons) in Creative Musicianship - Vocals (1st class honours) at BIMM London.
She has also had leading roles in musicals such as Bugsy Malone (Blousey Brown) and Footloose (Rusty).

She has taught, directed and choreographed in the local area for over 20 years, running her own theatre schools and working as resident director at The Chequer Mead Theatre in East Grinstead. Currently, Angela teaches LAMDA at a local independent school and is looking forward to working with the talented students of Bullfrog Productions.
Youth Production Company
Our Youth Production Company performs 2 musicals each year at the Chequer Mead Theatre in East Grinstead. Rehearsals take place on Saturday afternoons in East Grinstead, with a total of 18 weeks of rehearsals for each show. Our rehearsals are both professional and fun, and we take pride in creating a unique ‘family feel’ with every cast.
Bullfrog is proud to hold a strong reputation for producing professional and high quality shows, even with a young cast. Our most recent productions have included Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Fame, and High School Musical.
Please see our ‘Next Production’ page for more information on how to audition for our next cast!
Students who are part of our dance classes have the opportunity to take part in bi-annual dance shows, in addition to their examination opportunities. Shows will take place in a professional theatre, and give the students an exciting opportunity to perform on stage in costumes, under bright lights, and experiment with props.
At Bullfrog Productions, we believe that examinations and performance opportunities have equal benefits, and that it is just as important to develop life long memories with friends on stage, as it is to develop technical skills and achieve high results in examinations.
Many of our students go on to enter the professional industry, with recent graduate destinations including the Brit School, GSA (Guildford School of Acting), and The Urdang Academy. Congratulations to the following students who have gained a place in
full time vocational training this year:
George Dennett - Mountview
Charlotte Nield - GSA (Guildford School of Acting)
Helen Bellinger - The Brit School
